About us

Two friends, one shared passion for language.

¡Hola! We're Delfina and Luciana, the founders and teachers behind Lingua Australis.

We met while studying Linguistics and Literature in Buenos Aires, where we quickly bonded over our shared love of everything language-related.

After years of studying and working together, we decided to turn that passion into something of our own: a Spanish school where we could share our knowledge, experience, and love for the language with students from around the world.

7+years of combined teaching experience, bringing both academic expertise and a personal approach to every lesson.

For me, language learning has always been closely connected to traveling and discovering new cultures.

While studying Language and Literature, I spent a semester abroad in Santiago de Compostela, Spain. It was there, surrounded by people from different countries and backgrounds, that I discovered just how much I enjoyed cultural exchange and learning about the world through other people's experiences.

Teaching Spanish allows me to bring that same curiosity into the classroom and help students discover new ways of communicating and connecting with others.

I'm originally from Bolivia, but I've been living in Argentina for several years now. Having experienced life abroad myself, I know how much language shapes the way we experience a new place and its people.

My life in Buenos Aires has been filled with friendships, conversations, and experiences with people from all over the world. I've always loved hearing their stories, learning about their cultures, and helping them navigate life in a Spanish-speaking country.

For me, teaching Spanish is a way of bringing people and cultures closer together.

Why Lingua Australis?

Our name comes from two Latin words: lingua, meaning "language," and australis, meaning "southern."

It reflects where we come from and how we approach teaching Spanish.

Spanish is spoken across many countries, each with its own accents, expressions, and traditions. Our goal is to help you understand that diversity while developing the skills and confidence to communicate naturally.

How our classes work

Lessons built around you

We know that no two students learn in exactly the same way. That's why our lessons are designed around your individual needs, interests, and learning style.

  1. 1

Let's get to know each other

Your journey begins with an initial assessment lesson: one 30-minute class where we'll assess your Spanish comprehension and production level.

We'll get to know you, discuss your goals, assess your current level, and identify the areas you'd like to improve. It's also a chance for you to experience our teaching style and decide whether we're the right fit for you.

The assessment lesson is booked and paid for separately, with no obligation to purchase a package afterward.

  2. 2

    Choose your lesson package

Once we've established your level and goals, you can choose the package that works best for you. Every lesson lasts 50 minutes and is tailored to your individual needs.

Depending on your level and objectives, lessons combine:

    • Grammar Understand how Spanish works and learn to use it confidently.
    • Vocabulary Build practical vocabulary for everyday situations and topics that interest you.
    • Conversation Practice speaking naturally, improve fluency, and gain confidence.
    • Listening & pronunciation Develop your comprehension and sound more natural.
    • Culture Explore the expressions, traditions, and linguistic diversity of the Spanish-speaking world.
  3. 3

    Learn at your own pace

We believe that consistency matters, but flexibility does too.

Our lesson packages allow you to organize your sessions according to your availability and learning goals, so you can make meaningful progress without committing to a rigid schedule.
